Road running standards
The club running standards are a great way for you to demonstrate where you are against the worlds elite athletes and are defined for women & men in 5 year age groups based upon a percentage of the age grade tables. There are 5 standard levels - Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold & Diamond, with Diamond being the highest and equivalent to level 4/5 on the England Athletics PB Awards (see below.
If you are interested in this I really encourage you to discuss your goals with the coaching team who are there to aid with training plan suggestions and insight into races that might just suit you best for success.
Requirements to qualify for a standard award:
-
First claim to Sutton in Ashfield Harriers & Athletics Club
-
Achieve the standard at 3 of the 6 distances within your age group.
-
The 3 standards must be achieved within a single 12 month period.
-
Parkrun times do not qualify due to non qualified marking of the route.
Only one standard can be claimed within each age group. Proof of qualifying times and dates to be registered with Paul Hillman (paulhillman1974@hotmail.com) no later than 1 month before the annual club presentation evening. The standards will be awarded at the clubs annual presentation evening.
